The “Deep State” is us, the people of the United States: MAGA was afraid of the “Deep State” and chanted to “drain the swamp,” but none of them, when asked, could inform what the “Deep State” actually was. Now we’re discovering that the deep state is actually made up of our friends and neighbors and family members and veterans who work hard in federal jobs serving the country in roles like the FAA, nuclear plants, nurses, agriculture, disease control and the VA. Forest rangers, cancer research, air traffic controllers keeping planes from crashing and workers keeping nuclear plants from melting down. One-third of federal workers are veterans. 

It doesn’t take a supposed “genius” to mass-fire people without understanding their contributions. Any idiot off the street could do that. Why isn’t efficiency being vetted by accountants, not coders, and done deliberately and thoughtfully? Congress needs to throw out Musk and get serious. The majority of Americans do not support ruining Americans’ lives.
