Back to Quartzsite

We didn’t feel satisfied with the length of our first boondocking trip to Quartzsite, AZ. It was only 3 or 4 days, cut short by high temperatures (we can’t run the AC while boondocking). So after our stay in Palm Springs we returned to Quartzsite for close to a week. It was great. We mostly had the place to ourselves. We had some gorgeous sunsets, saw some meteor showers, and made some awesome campfires.

Some folks left this box of scrap wood behind, up for grabs, so we put it in our fire ring and torched it. It made a great campfire.😄

SELIGMAN, AZ

We next stayed in a retro vintage Route 66 town called Seligman. It’s fairly close to the Grand Canyon, which must be part of the reason this town has survived while most Rte. 66 towns died off when Route 40 replaced it.

BEDROCK CITY, WILSON, AZ

We stopped by the home of the modern stone age family. Yabba dabba doo.

CALIFORNIA

We did a little zigzagging between AZ and CA, and returned to Pinnacles NP because it’s awesome. We did a long post about it before so no need to bore you all. But it’s a cool place to visit if ever out that way.

There are a lot of ground squirrels in that area of CA. We mistook them for prairie dogs at first, because squirrels back east live in trees.
